We think everyone loves a great destination wedding, and so we’re off to Mauritius, today to get a look at Kira & Benjamin’s très chic destination wedding. Captured by Rensche Mari, Zavion Kotze Events turned the outdoor location into an absolutely lovely paradise and to enhance the feel of it, romantic centerpieces overflowing to the floor and the dreamiest white florals that just pop out at you the moment you start rifling through the photos.
From the couple, Kira & Benjamin: We always wanted a small wedding with the people who meant the most to us in attendance. From previous trips we knew how incredible the hospitality industry in Mauritius was so we were confident that our guests would be taken care of and be treated to a beautiful vacation as well as our special wedding. With Kira’s passion for veterinary medicine and animal welfare, as a couple we decided to donate funds towards sterilizing the stray beach dogs in Mauritius (a big problem in Mauritius) instead of wedding favors for our guests and opted for no gifts but rather donations for these animals. Weddings can feel slightly self centered so this was our way of incorporating caring for others into our special day. We wanted to be able to see the picturesque beaches of Mauritius at our wedding ceremony and reception but at the same time be sure that our guests were comfortable and not struggling with the elements on the beach (sand, wind, heat). Our wedding planner, Zavion Kotze Events, found the perfect location by transforming a five star restaurant (Beach Rouge) at the Luxe Belle Mare hotel on the beach into an unrecognisable wedding venue. Kira has always dreamed of a floral wedding but realistically struggled to get the specific flowers she liked in Mauritius. The ZK team imported the flowers from all over the world and only fresh flowers were used at the wedding. Kira wore her dream Milla Nova ball gown for the ceremony and changed into a more comfortable, boho Milla Nova gown for the reception. Together with our wedding planner Zavion Kotze and suppliers flying in from South Africa, we had the best night of our lives.
The travel bug got your daydreaming? Then check out this destination wedding in Kona, we have a hunch you might love it too.
